No that honour belongs to the Happy Chipmunks who sang Michael Jackson's greatest hits in 1984. But they look like pretty bad looking and bad sounding hair metal parodies (Poison?).

Hair metal threw up some great acts (GnR, Bon Jovi), some okay ones (Skid row, RATT) and some garbage ones (Warrant etc), but it was ripe for parody.

A lot more trashy bands have emerged from Idol style pop and boy bands like No Direction and Back door boys.

There is a documentary called Decline of Western Civilization the metal years ,watch it and

you will see that those glam bands really went overboard ,Steel Panther

know their facts and they

parody it but beside that they are a kick ass band with nice songs great musicianship .

The members of Steel Panther don't objectify women, their fake, joke characters do.

Kevin Spacey wasn't actually killing people in the movie Seven.

Chris Farley did NOT live in a van down by the river.

Some people think Ted was a funny movie and other poeple think it was vulgar. Different strokes.

Steel Panther are no different than the fake band in that Marky Mark heavy metal movie. It is an act and they are not real nor do the songs represent their actual feelings about women.

Their fans don't take them seriously, either. They're no different from Tenacious D except they actually have a band rather than being two guys objectifying women with acoustic guitars.

you guys don't get it, it's not a parody, the band is using the concept of parody to earn some cold dirty cash; for all intents and purposes, THEY ARE A REAL BAND which releases albums and tours the world

I'll repeat it once again: if tomorrow a comedian started uploading videos full of "black faces" being ridiculed, would you accept it as a "parody"?
