Speaking of Angie, listening to the recent reissue of D'Angelo's Live At the Jazz Cafe CD, it amazed me how Angie owned the background vocals and just left the other two ladies a in dust! I remember hearing that live version of "Lady" on the radio back in the 90's and I knew without a doubt that was Angie on vocals. I was a huge fan of her work with Vertical Hold at the time.
