You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

In my mother's record collection (almost exclusively country, heavy on Conway Twitty and Freddie Hart and Narvel Felts) there were a few O.B. McClinton albums. There were some McClinton albums in there--I liked them. One of them was live. Hadn't heard him since I was a kid, though.

And when I saw the thread title, I knew it had to be you, MickeyDolenz. biggrin

Well, it wasn't as certain as if he'd been a polka performer from Lebanon, but partially. A few other people will start country threads, but they're usually bigger names.
