^^Sounds like ageism to me. There is no certain age to do something or act a certain way and what does being a parent have to do with anything? In the blues and southern soul, the audience doesn't have that same prejudice. Bobby Rush is 73 and has booty dancers onstage. Denise LaSalle, Sweet Angel, & Ms. Jody sing about sex and Mel Waiters makes songs about parties, drinking, juke joints, etc. Also look at performers like Grace Jones & Nona Hendrix, who are in their 60's and dress just as wild as they've always had. Iggy Pop still performs without a shirt. Caroll Spinney is 80 and still playing Big Bird & Oscar The Grouch.

I was 23 when our son was born and even though I got small enough for my little skirts and shorts, I chose not to wear them anymore because a mother should exude a little more class. When you're married or engaged your goodies are no longer up for grabs, put them away! That's the main issue I have with the music industry, women like JLo, Gaga, Rihanna, etc. they come on these shows aimed towards families and act like they're in strip club. Great example for our kids. And yes, I have issues with the men, too, but that's a whole 'nother thread.
