The Out Of Touch Music Video

lol lol lol I have not seen this till today. I LOVE this Hall & Oates track. I knew even they said their 80's videos were pure cheese. BUT THIS! the video is hilarious in good and bad ways. First off the intro... that uses an ''extended mix'' in the intro, then goes to the actual part of the song. A lot of songs in 83 & 1984 did this.. Flesh For Fantasy, Shebop, Every other Duran Duran video etc.

Then getting rolled over by a drum... going into giant drum kits. 80's excess and hilarity at it's finest.

That's how it goes on the album, but that beginning part is longer than it is in the video. It's called Dance On Your Knees. It's not really a separate song, it's like Cooking Class & Sexy Socialites by The Time or the many intros Janet Jackson has on her albums.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Kind of slow on some of the H&O videos. This one isn't even on their official page. I had to do some digging for it.

Here's the full album version and a live performance. I also have the remix 12" single version which doesn't have the Dance On Your Knees part.

On the Big Bam Boom album, they worked with Arthur Baker, who was a popular remixer & producer in the 1980s. He co-produced that Sun City song, which Hall & Oates was one of the performers on.
