D'Angelo to be interviewed in NYC at Red Bull Music Academy!!!!!!

http://www.okayplayer.com/news/a-conversation-dangelo-to-be-part-of-rbma-ny-residency-2014.html

Red Bull Music Academy is taking over NYC again this year for their second month long residency in the sleepless city. As part of that month of madness, a public lecture featuring the likes of the one and only savior of this R&B ish D’Angelo will be taking place at the Brooklyn Musuem on May 21st, during which he will be interviewed and divulge some insight into his creative process and share some of the highlights of his career. Hopefully one of those championship moments will be the 15 years-in-the-making follow-up to the astral sophomore release Voodoo.

And so for the second time in 24 hours, we’re talking about the royal Yoda of the game. Yesterday’s announcement of the rerelease and embellishment of his rare 95′ cut Live At The Jazz Cafe, getting word of a legitimate opportunity to hear the man discuss his process is literally the next best thing to that next album actually coming out. And maybe we’ll he’ll gush on a potential release date. Hell, what if the album drops next month and we get a chance to hear him talk about THAT?(!) Whatever transpires in these next few months, D’lievers have a lot to look forward to. You can purchase tickets to A Conversation With D’Angelo via RBMA.

I really like D'angelo. But, the way y'all rate him on here. He had 2 very good albums... and some of y'all act like he has the discography of Stevie Wonder or Bob Dylan. I'll never get it lol He plays instruments and is a good singer. Van Hunt does the same thing and has more material.

To me, it is his talent, yes, but he is one of the FEW artists, along with P and Sly and my baby Lewis Taylor, that basically, everything they do, I love.

Also, D is the monarch of neo soul-he kicked off that movement, it is what re represents. He is the 90s.

Great news, I love those RBMA lectures. My favourite so far is the one by Dam-Funk.

Theres no mystery to his creative process:

First get high.

Then eat.

Then get high again.

Go to recording studio.

Get high again.

Nap.

Get high again.

Order take out.

Get high.

Mumble into mic.

Go home.

Get high.

Eat.

Sleep.

I love D'Angelo's music, but come on. Shit or get off the pot. He had 2 great cd's and he killed it at the BET awards a few years back, but he really needs to give us some new music for most of us to really give a shit.
