I was wondering, if the Beach Boys released the 'Smile' album back in the 60's how much of an impact would it have made on popular music and what creative path would Brian Wilson have went next?. Also do you think Brian would have not withdrawn with himself and had to deal with the same issue(s) he's sadly had to deal with?. As I'm guessing a catalyst for some of them was the fact was he was not able to fully expressive himself creatively within the Beach Boys. Although fragments of 'Smile' ended up on other Beach Boys releases, so it did prove the point that the songs were good enough for release, but maybe were too ahead of their time in the sequence which BW had planned.
