It should but I'm thinking the song from Frozen will get it.

Everybody seems to like this song. It's definitely the most popular out of the bunch. I think last week it was sitting @ #2 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart (only surpassed by Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" @ #1). - Here's some info on that Frozen song... - http://www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/newsPage.cgi?news09742m01 - Disney’s Frozen Hits #1 on HITS Album Sales Chart Again; Swindell, Phantogram Debut in Top 10 Cold weather may be a bane in much of the land, but to Disney it's pure magic. Team Walt is celebrating yet another #1 week atop the HITS Album SalesChart for the unstoppable Frozen ST, which adds another 88k to its million-plus tally, a decline of just 12%. - -

I think he'll have to settle for second place due to Frozen, which is dominating the film box office and music charts right now but I won't count against it. Stranger things have happened.

I'm surprised there isn't much buzz around U2's "Ordinary Love". They tend to be darlings of most academies here in the States... - -

I doubt they'll win it. If they do, it'll be an upset.

That's exactly why I think they will win it. I love U2 and very surprised that the song is buzzing more than it is, but oh well. I love Pharrell's "Happy" song, but I doubt he'll win the Oscar for it. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

He'll win. Songs like this always win. They're the only songs that most people have heard, so when they get nominated they usually win. I'm still shocked that Prince didn't land ANY Best Song nominations back in 84!

I love Pharrell's "Happy" song, but I doubt he'll win the Oscar for it. The song sucks, and the academy knows it. U2, won't win. Which song are you referring to that sucks? Ordinary Love or Happy? I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Looks like U2's. | |

I doubt U2 will win myself. Musically they haven't really been interesting in a long time. Which is why I expect either Pharell or Frozen to win the Oscar. More so for Frozen.

Oh. Well I like both of them. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Looks like U2's. The one by U2, who like Cold Play, haven't released anything of substance, let alone award worthy, in quite some time. As for, "Happy", that's one best things to come out in years. It sticks to the formula of, "simple, and "fun". Two things that are missing in most of today's music... "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

- Good for him. Not surprised. He was getting more and more spins at different radio formats. Too much momentum. He sure has a lot of momentum going into this weekend. The timing couldn't be better for him. If he loses, it would be considered an upset I think. It will be interesting how this turns out. You have the new No. 1 song in the country going against a song from the No. 1 album in the country. [Edited 2/27/14 6:50am]

I have to agree. Though I do find a lot of joy in (non-mainstream) music, this is a good example of where mainstream music can go.

Seems like most were right to guess that, "Let It Go" would win the Oscar for Best Song. It really was a paint-it-by-numbers Oscar contender anyway. "Happy" would have been a pleasant surprise though.

I liked his performance much better than the screaming chick . The audience interaction was fun to watch .

Was this the strongest list of nominees in this catagory ever? I'm finding it hard to remember a stronger list.

- - Yeah, I guess you know you got hit when you have Meryl Streep dancing to it.
