This is gonna sound terrible, but a little while back, at the time when I was properly getting into the old Motown tunes for the first time, and had my ears opened to Marvin Gaye as well, I had just met this girl, and she asked me about what music I was into... and I said 'I've been listening to a lot of Marvin Gaye', and she immediately said 'Oh, so you like the sexy music, like 'Let's Get It On'?', and I initially wanted to say 'Well, actually, I've been listening more to his socially conscious songs like on his What's Going On album', but instead I just said: 'Yeah, exactly'. .
