I remember posting that video on here a while back and only a few people were checking for it. Daley is a bad ass dude. There is no denying that. I have more respect for a lot of overseas cats who do R&B because a lot fo them do it because they love it and aren't trying to capitalize on it off the back of black culture.

How exactly is Tank "part of the problem?" He's an above average vocalist, decent songwriter, solid live performer and doesn't have a tacky or gaudy image. He generally doesn't make sex-you-up, twerking, up-in-the-club, bragging/boasting type of music. His sound is generally laid back, ballad-y, relationship-themed, contemporary R&B that has been the standard for decades. [Edited 2/24/14 6:11am]

saw both daley and mayer hawthorne live in dc...they both gave excellent shows. they are both coming back in march and i will be going again. the best r&b shows i go to are usually the "oldie" acts tour, which is coming up in april with the whispers, stylistics howard hewitt and the dramatics

Patterson is tremendous but Tanks comments weren't critical of him. They were critical of the more main stream artist who compromise their R&B roots and whose records are less and less musical. The comments were directed towards HipHops destruction of what is considered black music and therefore relevant. Not sure why so many appear to have missed that. Understand there can be no Sade today as things currently exist on black radio formats. Let alone a Prince. Hell some black folks questioned why Bruno got to play the Super Bowl....as if he wasn't worthy. mcw00 said:
Agreed.
And I also agree with those upthread who called out Rahsaan Patterson's consistent, fantastic body of work. Dance... Let me see you dance
