Lauren Hill On Letterman Tonight For Beatles Tribute...

Lauryn Hill Looks Great As She Leaves Dave Letterman

Lauryn Hill Leaves The Dave Letterman Show

It’s been four months since Lauryn Hill was released from prison after being sentenced for tax evasion, but she’s back rocking again.

The mother of six looked amazing last night, while dressed in plaid, as she left the Late Show With David Letterman in New York City. While there, she performed a special tribute to the Beatles to celebrate the band’s 50th anniversary of their very first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show.

Next week, fans in Miami can catch Lauryn at the 9 Mile Music Festival along with Stephen and Damian Marley, as well as Sean Paul, Shaggy and Mavado.

Catch some pics, plus see what her daughter Selah has been up to below:

Great version!
Lauryn has the x-factor, no doubt. There's something quite electric about her stage presence...
I'd kill to see her do a full length show with a big band, featuring the best of her solo, Fugees tunes and the great covers she has done such as this and "could you be loved".
Music, sweet music, I wish I could caress and...kiss, kiss...

Good performance thumbs up! I wanna see her doing more stuff like this.No more "angry" songs and weird behavior! Just get out there,do some TV appearances and remind people why they fell in love with you in the first place.Maybe there is hope for her after all wink

Co-sign! All it took was time in prison. I never thought I'd say this, but she should probably leave rap alone until she gets back in favour with the general public.

Her artistry has always been consistent. Her content at times is what makes certain people uncomfortable. She never lost it. you just didnt want to hear what she had to say before & What I hope she continues to incorporate into her music.

She performed a very sophisticated rendition of the song, although I thought the band played it a tad too fast.

Y'know.. *I* liked this. *I* bought it on iTunes. *I* heard the lyrics she was putting down. But this is just not the time for that aggressive style from her. She's been away too long to come back sounding mad.

I did not buy it because I only buy albums since the cd single die. but I did it hear it enough times and thought it was fantastic. even just musically the psychedlic sounds are awesome.

The problem with "Neurotic Society" is that it comes off as a laundry list of issues. What's good is that Lauryn still has a LOT on her mind, but this song has enough subject matter for two albums. We as humans still crave art, or in this day and age the semblance of it, so it's basically a bunch of subjects begging for songs. The Letterman performance shows she still has her voice, and the only complaint is that she has to keep her mouth consistently near the mic so we can hear her.

How else do you do a song critisizing society? You have no choice but list off all it's percieved problems.

It's also done in this fast paced neurotic almost sounding, too fast to keep up with flow. Which at the end leaves you grasping for air, I thought it was very clever.

Solid performance of the classic. -Cinny you're my dude and I usually agree with most of your post. However, after stumbling on this video after watching her Letterman's performance, I have to respectably disagree. This performance of "Final Hour" showed me that she still has the chops for rap music too. Now granted its from her catalog but her delivery and musical scope in the rendition is what gives me hope that she can still do Hip Hop. (fingers crossed)-

If Lauryn listened to what would be commerically viable and what would please the general public we would never had "The miseducation.."

She should be honest as an artist. If that is singing or rapping or doing a Yoko Ono impression. as long as its real.

interesting tidbit: Lauryn has always been a huge fan of the Beatles. When Carlos Santana asked her to submit a track to his 'Supernatural' album in 1999,one of the songs they were gonna do was a remake of a Beatles tune that Lauryn loved so much.

So refreshing to see a natural talent do what she does best. Was worried about her for minute there with all that she has gone thru. Good shit.
