What political correctness? So, means every black actor now from Denzel Washington to Morgan Freeman are winning oscars because black never won before Sidney Poitier?

Tbh I heard this somewhere else and I couldn't believe what people think of, what's next I mean, Illuminati people are planning to destroy african-american race?

u want political correctness......try this one........

u are a group who wins a Grammy for the son IT'S HARD TO BE A PIMP where even the group who won it acknowledged privately they shoudn't have won it

political correctness ain't that u win, it's what u win for

Denzel Washington portrayed many roles prior to Training Day that should have earned him a Grammy........he knew he wasn't going to win best actor for Malcolm X...he knew that right out the bat and he was all time robbed when he didn't win best actor for The Hurricane.......he had to play a villian to get his Oscar rather than the many biopic roles he did

Halle Berry won best actress for Monster's Ball and she's done roles prior to that which was way more deserving

Excellent points. Denzel should have won for Malcolm x, but no way was the Academy going to give him an Oscar for playing the role of Malcolm. Many in this country still have issues with what Malcolm fought against, which was racial injustices, so Denzel already knew that he wasn't getting an Oscar for that role. It was an insult to give Terrence that award for playing a cheap hustler/pimp-type role. Same with Halle getting an Oscar for that role. If the Black actor is not playing a slave, prostitute, whore, maid, pimp, drug-dealer, then it's likely they may not get that oscar. Nothing new. About the grammys, well remember when Beeb fans went batsh*t crazy because Esperanza Spalding won it. How Beeb fans felt he deserved a grammy is beyond me. Beebs is just another Justin Timberlake singing the new, watered-down r&b, with a few black male dancers to make him look cool. It seems, whomever the popular artist is at the time, gets the grammy or maybe not. shrug

If that particular "white man" is only allowed to play rolls as a ill-education poor backwoods hillbilly roll, yes that can be demeaning.
The series was about a poor backwoods family transplanted to Beverly Hills, California, after striking oil on their land. most of the cast was stuck in those character type rolls.
check out this link titled Irish american racism:
http://www.racismreview.c...-whiteness
it's about the irish. they were cleary victims of anti-irish racism. truth is certain whites have suffered generationally with the illness of having a self perceived image of superiority over others. be it looking down on the poor whites, the Jewish race, people of color, and especially african americans, they caused much suffering to others for decades in america.

so yes to your question. racist attitudes can be white on white.nod
