Timbaland to Produce New Jodeci Album

Timbaland is letting another secret out of the bag. The super-producer has announced plans to produce Jodeci’s new album.

During a chat with fans on the Hang w/ app (via HHNM), he revealed the news. “I met with DeVante and I’m going work on the new Jodeci album,” he said.

“I ain’t really supposed to say that, but I’ll be working with the new Jodeci album,” he said, adding, “And it does sound good.”

Jodeci is reportedly in the studio readying their first album in 19 years. He previously collaborated with the ’90s R&B group on their 1993 album Diary of a Mad Band.

Jodeci isn’t the only project on Timbaland’s plate. He has been completing his own album, Textbook Timbo.

Admittedly I was never the biggest Jodeci fan (Blackstreet all the way!), but I DO appreciate what DeVante did for the Swing Mob/Bassment, and you can't top K-Ci.

I'm gonna stay tuned for this.

Gunsnhalen	I like Jodeci and all. But there a mess... i can't imagine this album sounding good at all. sigh Sorry but won't believe it until I see it. Jodeci has been "supposedly" working on a new album for the past 15 years. It's not that I don't think Timberland would deliver, I don't think Jodeci will stay committed to delivering this "new" album. K-Ci was hot back in the day, but even though he can still sing, his voice surely isn't the powerhouse that it used to be. It's more raspy than ever these days rather than the powerful and soulful voice that it used to be. And this is coming from a die hard Jodeci fan.

The first album in 91 was top notch for the time, I have the cassette wink . In this new millenium where kids are fed coolness via twitter and Pinterest , I don't see a hit factory churning away in Timbo and Devante's lab, just weak grabs at faded glory.
