Just me personally I'd move Madonna and Beyonce further down the list. Prince, Bruce then U2 would be my top three performances. Mars/Peppers I'd put in the top 5-6. I also would put Michael's perfomance a notch or two higher as I would Janets. McCartney didn't do much for me. And the Stones didn't blow me away either, i felt like they were just going through the motions.

Change it one more time..

I think you're on your own wink

Thankfully I haven't had to hear anything by the BEP's in a long time.

I think this list is fairly accurate. Although, I would put Paul McCartney way ahead of Madonna and her lip-syncing performance.

Since the half-time show goes back to the 1960s, I wonder why everything is mostly 2000s. The US media always has a short term memory.

That's because no one gives a damn about Up With People. lol wink

Maybe because Super Bowl Halftime shows Before-MJ were normal and nothing special, post-MJ everything was eclectic and big.

Excuse all of you that were born after the 1980's, but it was NKOTB (not Michael Jackson) that were THE first ever Superbowl Halftime Show act. Michael was second.

I hate that they decided to take a "hiatus" just when I was starting to really like them lol their 2008 CD 'The E.N.D' is superb, imo.

I had to re-watch Diana Ross' performance just for kicks. WOW...I still love it. worship She changed outfits, sang live, and left in a freakin' helicopter. And I didn't see one tongue hanging out, ass cheek, or crotch. But at 51, she was still gorgeous and hot!!!

nod When I think of the Super Bowl halftime show, the very first thing I think of is Diana leaving in that helicopter. lol

I'm pretty sure Up With People released records and so has Carol Channing.

I still remember that stupid song (called "Up With People" duh) when the Up With People group came to our school when I was a kid and sang it...and then we had to sing it in music class... razz lol

Found the song performed by an Up With People reunion group... lol

They have over 10 albums, which is more than Sade has.

I think with the settings like the superbowl stage it's just hard to see the best of an artist. Any artist for that matter. At any rate U2 and Prince's were my personal favorite performances as well so I'm glad! Bruno did a good job this year too. Hope Prince could do another one soon =)

Every year The Media reminds people that Patti LaBelle & Tony Bennett had one of the worst Halftime shows in History...LOL...I Love both of these ICONS and I thought Patti, Tony & the Producers had good intentions...The Disney theme was too kid-like...Had the NFL hired a SERIOUS producer/director with a vision Patti & Tony would've been the King & Queen of Halftime instead of one of the worst packages ever...

****************************************************************************

To Patti's credit she was invited back for the Super bowl Pre-show a decade later. Like normal she ROCKED that open stadium and brought the Thunder like only she can...And The NFL Producers have asked her to headline The Super Bowl Gospel Concert more than any other Female Artist....The NFL Super Bowl Producers seem to Love Divas...

Prince was good much better than the Grammy performance which still is in high ranks (the one with Beyonce) but honestly that grammy performance was just OK barely. My only problem was Prince almost doing all covers on the Superbowl, you get what 10 minutes or so and you pull out 2 covers? But whatever the rain thing is what made it, sorry, but if it didnt rain, it wouldnt have "reigned".

2 covers? We Will Rock You (admittedly just snippets), All Along The Watchtower, Proud Mary, and The Best Of You.

Diana just for leaving the place in a helicopter, Motown artists for the classic stage show, Prince for the sheer musicality and Bruce for the emotion.

Everything else:
