JAMES BROWN: Bubbling Under the Hot 100

James Brown has over 95 charting singles inside the Top 100 on Billboard's chart. He has no number 1 singles (that's another story) but countless top 10's.

I had to actually search for these on the net. History gives us no record of most of these singles I'm about to list.

Please, Please, Please

JB's signature song, peaked at #105 on the Billboard Charts. There was no Bubbling under at that time, so I can't find when exacly it peaked. It charted #5 on the Black Charts.

Hold It

Released as James Brown’s Band, "Hold It" peaked at #9 the week of March 13, 1961. Also on the charts that week, Bewildered was rising to #72.

Devil’s Hideaway

Released as James Brown at the Organ for Smash Records. "Devil's Hideaway" peaked at #14 the week of April 24, 1965.

Maybe The Last Time

"Maybe The Last Time" is one of JB's most famous tunes. You'd never know it had a small 2 week run at the bottom of the charts peaking on October 17th 1964 at #7. It was the B-Side to "Out Of Sight." the A-Side is at #55 this week.

New Breed (The Boo-Ga-Loo) (Part 1)

Released as James Brown at the Organ, "New Breed (The Boo-Ga-Loo) (Part 1)" charted at #2 the week of May 7th, 1966. "It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World" is flying up the charts at #31.

You've Got To Change Your Mind

A duet with Bobby Byrd, it peaked at #2 on April 13, 1968. It also charted #47 on the Black Charts. "I Got The Feelin’" is at #11 that same week.

There Was a Time

This is not the known hit, but the instrumental version featuring Pee Wee Ellis and credited to The Dapps. Charted #3 August 10th, 1968. Another forgotten single, "I Guess I'll Have To Cry, Cry, Cry" is at #59.

Soul Pride

A James Brown's Band release. "Soul Pride" charts at #17 and #33 on the Black Charts April 19, 1969. At number 30 that week on the big charts is "I Don’t Want Nobody To Give Me Nothing’ (Open Up The Door I‘ll Get It Myself)"

Say It Loud I'm Black And I'm Proud

Papas Got a Brand New Bag

I Got You(I Feel Good)

Its a Mans Mans Mans World

Fact is he had 17 #1s in the rnb charts.
