Toots & the Maytals (featuring Shaggy)plus, Youssou N'Dour

I got into Toots & the Maytals thru the band Killing Joke. I'm a big Killing Joke fan and KJ's lead singer(Jaz Coleman) is a big Toots fan. I wouldn't say that I'm a super, reggae fan, but I'm most definitely a casual fan of the genre.

Toots has been around for a long time and even though he does have some pop reggae(?) songs, most of his music is roots reggae.

Bam Bam is a Toots & the Maytals song. It was first released( as a single) in the late 60's and has been remade a few times. This updated version is off the Toots album, True Love, and features Shaggy on lead vocals.

This is not a reggae song but it kinda fits in with the vibe of this post...i think wink

For a while now Ive enjoyed Youssou N'Dours music. He has an amazing voice and his music is uplifting.

I think there is a different version of this song but I'm not 100% sure.

Youssou N'Dour and Star of Dakar.
