Same here. But I would still choose Sticky Fingers even if I did have more than 10 LPs from 1971.

Nice call on 'Rubber Soul'. It kind of gets snowed under by their late 60s work, but it was prolly the first album to signal a departure from their 'she loves you yeah yeah yeah' teen demographic sound they had earlier.

In my defense, Kiss Alive 2 is not a full live album. It features 5 new studio tracks recorded for that album.

You certainly haven't changed in all the years I've known you on the org. The two albums on your list that I own didn't make my top ten. lol Of all the Can and Stooges albums I have, their debuts are the ones I like the least.

Do you have Moondog's 1969 album? That's another kooky one that missed my top ten that I thought you would like.

OK, I join all the old people here! lol

---

1977:

---

1. Low. David Bowie

2. Trans-Europa Express. Kraftwerk

3. The Idiot. Iggy Pop

4. Les Marquises. Jacques Brel

5. "Heroes". David Bowie

6. Before And After Science. Brian Eno

7. Peter Gabriel II. Peter Gabriel

8. Lust For Life. Iggy Pop

9. Thrillington. Paul McCartney

10. Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols. Sex Pistols

---

In fact, I must say I wasn't sure if it was worthy to come to this dreadful world, but hearing the first notes of the song "Heroes" made me decide that it could really be, and so I was finally born.

The debuts are probably my least favourite records by those bands as well, but I still like them quite a lot. I've never heard that Moondog record, or heard of him for that matter. I just listened to a few minutes of the albumt on YT & I really like the sound of it. I'm going to give it a full listen tonight.

Conversely, Raw Power and Future Days are my top two albums of 1973.

ZombieKitten introduced me to Moondog. And his album appeared in SPIN's 60s alternative list: http://prince.org/msg/8/396086

Alright, I don't know what the top ten would be (and looking at a list of releases from that year on Wikipedia--there was an awful lot that I probably need to sit down and listen to):

But I can say that even after I listen to them, I'm guessing this will still be safely seated at the top of any list of 1970 albums that I would make:

John Lennon--Plastic Ono Band.

Love that album. While there are other albums I'm familiar with from that year, none are so clearly central to my musical world as that one is. I might try to come up with a fuller list later, but there's my number one.
