Stevie B- Because I Love You (Cheese galore) This was the number 1 song when i was born... and as much a music nerd as i claim too be. I have never heard this song! now, i love me some cheesy 80's and early 90's in a certain mood. But this... this is like soggy Lionel Richie meets Michael Boltons hair meets a reject from a revolution member who didn't make the cut. Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Lawd, how I hated this song. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
μηδὲν ὅλως σὺ λυποῦ πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶ τὸ ζῆν τὸ τέλος ὁ χρόνος ἀπαιτεῖ.”

I wouldn't say i quite hate it. But, as someone who an stand cheese on a good day. This is too much this is literally Michael Bolton songwriting, Lionel Richie Instrumental, and Georgio personality. That's too much sodium for one song Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

Stevie was a Latin Freestyle act, but his freestyle songs didn't really crossover like Because I Love You. Freestyle was mainly popular in certain parts of the US, like Florida, NYC, & Texas. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I liked this song, but it got played too much at the time and I got tired of it. Your right. It is uber cheesy, but the chords are quite pretty I feel. It's one of the first songs I learned on my keyboard LOL.
I usually don't like simplistic production like on this song, but it works on "because I love you" as it's simplicity is it's main strength and makes the song stand out....
The hook is good too of course. Having said that, Timmy T's "one more try", which was out a little later according to the charts, was pretty similar to this song LOL. Not as good though, but I like that one too.
