At the height of my disco/dance fever...

I was a fanatic dancer back in the day...danced every single night. Sometimes so hard I'd sweat until I almost passed out. This music just took me to another world and universe. I still dance but not as much. Don't get me wrong...I listened to Michael and Prince and others and was a rabid stan but these songs brought me up. Here are just some of my all time fave 'dance' songs that I could NOT hear and sit down in my seat...in no particular order. cool

And they STILL make me dance... headbang

I never was into CAMEO again after Wayne Cooper died. I loved that man and his voice. 'Why Have I Lost You' is a phenomenal song. He had about a 4 octive range but his job in Cameo was the high falsetto range. I saw them in concert twice. And the video? I loved it because the men didn't give a fuck if anyhone thought they were gay or straight...they just DANCED their asses off!

More to come... razz wink

^Now that is a party playlist. No doubt about it.music

I might be looking at late 70's to late 80's disco, soul, funk and dance music with rose colored glasses but i sure do miss the feelings that the parties, dances and music of that period gave me. Even though ive been a music lover since i was about 5(1972) i didn't start going to house parties and dances until around 1981. And as a result i consider myself a child of the 80's and a die hard 70's and 80's music man.

^Now having said that about partying...the reality is i can't dance a lick cry

I was a OK breakdancer and pop locker but as far as boogieing... nope.

My thing was going to parties, hanging with the homeboys, getting tore up drunk, hitting on the girls(women), bobbing my head 2 the beat and admiring people like noimageatall...

I started out very young (probably about 8) loving The Doors, Steppenwolf, Janis, Jimi, Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull, Deep Purple (HUSH is still one of my all time favorite songs), then I turned into a hippie/flower child. rainbow peace yinyang but when that funk/disco came I was hooked. Now I love most all music genres except country. neutral

I saw all of these groups in concert. love

Oh btw, I had these same pants vvv wink lol

You got that right !

Its funny.

In the house of my youth, my mother had put up(in the living room) a bunch of those old school 8x8 inch mirrors, so that they covered a whole side of a wall. Total, that mirror must have been at least 6 feet by 6 feet. Anyway when i would be home alone i would get in front of them mirrors and practice my pop lock moves. I had the gloves, the sports gear, the whole nines. It was like i was a star in my own world eek . That was pretty much the ONLY place where i would do any kind of dancing

Anyway good music post. And if i ever met u in person, maybe u could tech me how 2 dance...

Darn...
