The Empress of Soul Ms. Gladys Knight has decided to give Reality TV a try. "Knight Life with Gladys" 1hr weekly show debuts Saturday Dec 28th @10pm ONLY on OWN. Gladys told Arsenio that OWN"s Producers pitched the show to her people. Look for behind the scenes footage of Gladys on Tour, Opening a restaurant and the making of her new CD.

The Mighty O should have done a "Next Chapter" on Gladys as a lead in to the shows debut....The Producers of the Reality show didn't think to ask O?

Gladys seems like a real classy lady-I hope her show maintains that image.

Now you know Gladys don't play no mess and don't take no mess..She's old-school showbizness...OWN is doing good with its shows and developing a "steady" foundation. This is good TV exposure for Glady's projects...Reality TV ain't going anywhere anytime soon so you might as well carve yourself a piece of that pie..and Bubba will probably be in every episode....

A reality show? I somehow think her fans would have liked a new album or a TV special instead. I like her, but I'm not a fan, so I guess it doesn't matter to me either way.

Hey, it's a paycheck. Gladys ain't no spring chicken. I guess doing a reality show is probably easier than constantly being on the road touring.

She does have a new album. It was released in June and hardly anyone knew about it.

not sure how I feel about this.I love Gladys,but I'm not too fond of celebrity reality shows.I'll tune in a few times,to see how it is.

The first episode was good and what you'd expect from an ICON like Gladys...No Drama, no mess.....Bubba is CRAZY and a scene stealer..LOL...I think he's in his 70's and he dances like a 30yr old...Gladys has a beautiful blended family...After 13yrs of marriage you'd think her husband (William) would be use to her traveling schedule. I thought it was interesting hearing Gladys talk about how people might view her Manager/husband. I say let folks think, Gossip and just be their Nosey-ass-selves. At 69 she doesn't owe anybody an explanation about her Marriage and definitely not her families bank account...

I thought it was strange that OWN has not added future episodes to its lineup...I can usually set my DVR to record episodes in advance...Maybe future episodes will air after the New Year...

I believe I read that the show that aired the other night was just a "special" and that the time slot for upcoming shows hadn't been announced yet.

I didn't know her husband was her manager. Mixing business with pleasure like that can turn very sticky, epecially if the marriage ends up not working out. Just ask Melba Moore and Miki Howard about that.

...Makes sense...Now I know why there's no future shows to record....William told us on Camera that he's Gladys's manager but her Grandson was doing most of the work and traveling with her to the bookings..William complained about not having enough "alone time". If he'd simply travel with her that would squash the issue....We know Gladys gotta sleep some damn time...The segments where he went on & on complaining was strange since he's THE manager...I sorta looked at him as being "The Manager" when Gladys is off the road and they plan Bookings at the dining room table.....That's how they presented it to the viewer......
