The film isn't really about Earth Wind and Fire per se, they just happen to be in it. It's actually about Harvey Keitel's character, he plays a young record producer who wants to proudce the music he likes, (Earth Wind and Fire), but the record company wants him to drop them and focus on a bland Pop group they have invested in...I actually liked the movie, but it got roasted by the crtics when it came out, and not many people saw it...

..

BTW, Love this opening montage, featuring EWF in the studio...

another BTW, the guy leaning in behind Harvey Keitel is Charles Stepney, EWF's original Producer...

The movie is no masterpiece lol It's very low-budget and some of the scenes go on forever...too much talking! LOL...if you're a fan of EW&F,you will enjoy the scenes of them performing, but unfortunately there aren't too many performance scenes. The other problem is,the way their music was used in the film. That's The Way Of The World is one of their strongest albums, but in the film, the songs are mostly used as background music.Incredible songs like "Reasons", "See The Light" and the title track don't even feature vocals...it's just the instrumental versions!! Overall,it's a lackluster film but thankfully, the soundtrack became a smash hit on its own.

I have to admit, as they (Harvey and crew) worked on the arrangement of that bland ass song, that family group was working on, it started to sound better and better lol !!! The really great thing about this film, was actually seeing what Charles Stephney looked like. And seeing him in action, with Harvey Kietel.............working that magic. By the way, the movie is also on blu-ray, for those with blu ray players.
