New Childish Gambino Album

I love Childish Gambino! people have pretty mixed opinions on him. But, got damn i love his music. Maybe it's cause he is 100% honest with who he is, he doesn't try to come off hard, and he writes every single verse he does. Not to mention has a hand in producing his album...

I also like that on his first album he talked about ''mixed'' struggles. I find it rare that an album really breaks down the struggle about people who are mixed. The differences between both sides, not being accepted by one side of your culture, being fetished by people etc.

His new album is a 360 turn from his last album Camp. It's a little darker, more depressing, and has a few sappy chorus breaks.

But, i dig it a lot for the most part. The production and beats are FIRE, the lyrics are always a mix of clever and corny, and it takes you on journey. It's for sure worth a listen or two... or three.

Thanks for posting this! He is a really talented guy all around. Do you know who did the production?

Can't wait to check it out. That remix of Adele he rhymed on was fire, his rhyme was perfect.

Thanks for sharing Guns. At first I wasn't too impressed. Thought he sounded like Big Sean. The second and third joints I can ride with a little better.

I like the change, but one thing that always gets me are this freaking dumb names, "Childish Gambino" its one thing for a group to have dumb names, but when people do, its a distraction from what they do.

Thats not a person's name though, many bands have names, they picked it so everyone in every country could say it, pretty genius for a bunch of 20 year olds to see that far ahead.

Its fresh air in that genre, but its got to keep going and progressing, this is what happend with Lupe Fiasco and he hit a creative wall after a record

Uhhh.... Lil Wayne? ?love, PRINCE, All the members of Wu-Tang. Have names people think are weird, or funny. But... there all very well known worldwide... just saying A-Ha is not a genius name and neither is Gambino. it's just a name lol

And he put his name in the Wu-Tang name generator thought it was cool and went with it. He's not trying to be a worldwide sensation, so i think his name fits him fine.

I hear what your saying but its yet again another "mafia" reference name its very worn out at this point, true just a name, actually Prince is his name though. And the Lil' Thing is far beyond played already, very 90's. a-ha pretty much chose the name for the reason Queen took theres, couldnt really be "regionalized", meant alot to alot of cultures and genres.

But again like u said its about the music and its an interesting record though that cassie look a like sound a like he teams with is worse than her (musically)

As I understand it, Glover adopted the name from a "get your own rap name" kind of thing, maybe the Wu-Tang site, and that's what it gave him
