Guitar virtuoso Carlos Santana has released the second single from his debut Latin American album, Corazón.
The song, entitled “Saideira,” features Samuel Rosa of the Brazilian rock group Skank, and is available now for download on iTunes and Amazon.
In the official press release, Rosa said of his collaboration with Santana, “Recording the song 'Saideira' has been a fulfilling experience for me, and it has been such an incredible honor working with the great master Carlos Santana. I could never imagine that one day I would be sharing the stage with the guitar man who has influenced me with his solos, amazing compositions and has been a fundamental part of my musical education.”
Other special guests to be featured on Corazón include Gloria Estefan, Ziggy Marleyand Juanes, who appears on the album’s first single, “La Flaca.”
Santana is currently recording his new LP in Las Vegas where he has been performing a residency at the House of Blues, and the album’s release date is rumored for March 2014.
Additionally, a concert event called “Corazón, Live from Mexico: Live it to Believe It” will take place today (December 14) in Guadalajara, Mexico, and will feature Santana and many of his album’s collaborators.
The show will also be filmed for a special that is set to air on HBO Latino and HBO Latin America next spring, marking the first time an event of its kind will debut simultaneously on both of the networks.
Carlos Santana was recently awarded at the 2013 Kennedy Center Honors ceremony, which will air later this month on CBS, and the rocker is set to continue his residency at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay beginning on January 22.
