I find much of Pharrell's work to be quite pointedly derivative. That said, when he hits his mark, he does it quite well. I love this song. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

He still going to win an Oscar for best Motion picture original score !!!!It worked perfectly in the movie. Plus his stars have collided...  will ALWAYS think of  like a "ACT OF GOD"! Every Pharrell production is essentialy a remix of someone else's song, but the same is TRUE of Prince. The difference there is that Prince mines older and more obscure music for ideas, whereas Pharrell tends to mine things we are much more familiar with. I'm entertained by both guys, but I don't have a lot of respect for their songwriting method. | |

I don't care for some of the artists he's choosing to produce for these days, but I like the creative roll he's on now. It's almost like the late '90s and early '00s except the Neptunes have more clout to not have to hand out assembly-line beats just for hits anymore | |
