Why doesn't Alice Smith get more love?

Phenemonal singer, great presence. She should be a huge star.

I'm listening to her right now...
I have tickets for her show on Wednesday in NYC.
CANNOT WAIT! woot!

2elijah posted about her a while back, but I hadn't heard of her at that point...

The first time I saw her was at the Carnegie Hall Tribute back in March. She did "Pop Life" with Citizen Cope, and I hated it. shake

Then I saw her again at the first night of the City Winery shows in NYC in August, and she blew me away! faint

I bought both of her albums, and they have been in heavy rotation ever since. music

I think in time she will get more appreciation. I'm to the Philly show on Tuesday night. cool This girl can sang! Usually people who like real artistry, song writing and singing gravitate to so called unground artists like Alice. Slow and steady is always a good healthy pace.

ThankUPrince!

Yes! Alice Smith is awesome! I found out about her music in 2006. I like some songs from her 2006 album. 'Do I' and 'Gary's song' just some of my favorites. At the Prince 3121 concert in Vegas, DJ Rashida played one of Alice's songs before the show, but it wasn't until 2012 after the Prince tribute show at Carnegie Hall, and her current 'SHE' album, did she really start to get more recognition. Also her performance at City Winery in NYC blew the audience away. I got to meet her after the City Winery show, told her how much I appreciated her music, and was so glad she was getting the recognition she deserves. She was so humble and presented a nice disposition towards those who spoke to her after the show and that makes a big difference, when artists show appreciation towards their fans. Very powerful, beautiful voice. smile

I haven't heard the full albums yet. I asked for them for Christmas, and I'm really looking forward it. What I've heard in YT is really good!

Oh man... I was just reviewing what CDs from 2013 I actually bought. If I managed to pick up Jay-Z on a whim and listen to it once, I sure as hell can find a way to cop the latest Alice Smith.
