He's a monster producer, but as far as singing, I think he just carries a tune. He does have some interesting texture to his voice, though.

I don't mind his singing honestly. He's not a great singer, but he gets the job done as a hook man.

I would argue him & R. Kelly were the quintessential hook men of the 00's.

He once admitted that he's not a very good singer but I actually don't think he's that bad

I'll pass. Stick to the boards man. I don't take his singing that seriously, just a passable hook man.

he's right..

I love him on certain tracks. Love "Get Lucky", loved him on old Neptunes hooks like "I Just Wanna Love U (Give It To Me)" or "Shake Ya Ass".

Sounds like he's had singing lessons to me recently. The vocal on "Happy"'s much better than what he used to do.

If he were a shirt, he'd be a smedium.

A good rnb singer. Hypnotize You and Frontin' s vocals came to my mind. I think he's, if certainly not one outsanding singer, a thousand times better than Justin Timberlake....

Whoaaah! Hold on there. Pharrell needs computer aid like Andre 3000 when he sings. Justin doesn't. Bottom line: Pharrell can't sing. Neither can I so I know bad singing when I hear it.

We'll have to agree to disagree then. I don't think Justin is a convincible singer when it comes to interpretation at all. His falsettos sound forced, like Michael Jackson gone TOTALLY wrong. Perhaps Pharrell needs computer filters, but I don't think that's the case for André.

I agree with this. There's something very unconvincing about Timberlake's tone.

Pharrell has a nicer tone to his voice.

No, I'm talking about Pharell's attempts to sing with a high voice. I can't name the songs anymore, because I erased them from my memory. It was too painful.

Pharrell did say in an interview he didnt care he was not a good singer, he does it because he wants to. However its better than it used to be when he first came out. I love "Fun Fun Fun" off the Dispicable Me SDTK for example.

I rate him C+ and improving. Nowadays you don't have to know how to really sing to have a hit record(ask Rhianna). Pharrell has a nice tone! That fortunately he knows how to tune well, with his production skills(which are brilliant).His comeback this year is phenomenal! His production on the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack is Oscar worthy!! I was fortunate enough to attend a private screening he attended also for that movie. Then later a special conference he gave. His positive, humble attitude is contagious and rubbed off on me..
