I just reviewed the entire list of nominees. As always, some get the recognition they deserve, while others leave you scratching your head, huh? And then after remembering that certain artist are nominated because they're more "popular", then you quickly get over how integrity was lost a long time ago....

.

Random thoughts:

.

Taylor Swift, really? AOTY what a wasted slot among many.

.

Why does Lorde look older than Kate Bush in those pics? Isn't she supposed to be a teenager?

.

Congrats to Bruno Mars, Kendrick Lamar, Daft Punk, and all the others worthy of nominations.

.

Too bad we didn't get "The Battle of VA" between Timbaland & Pharrell for Producer of the Year. Looks like Pharrell was just more busy. Tim invested all that time into duplicating past success.

.

Haven't the Grammys gotten the memo that Rihanna hadn't been a "Urban" artist since "Pon De Replay"?

.

Alicia Keys? This girl needs inspiration bad and you reward her with an R&B Album of the Year?

.

Call me crazy but I don't think Ye deserves any nods this go 'round. Sorry. (don't encourage him class)

.

Was Snoop's reggae joint really good? Just asking because I didn't hear it. I didn't take it seriously.

.

Shout out to Ravi Shankar who's still gettin it from the grave.

.

I could have sworn Adele's "Skyfall" was nominated last year under this same category.

.

Last but certainly not least: Now I see how Jay Z ended up with 9 freakin nominations:

.

"Picasso Baby" Really? Best Video? The B.S. factor was off the meter with this one. Wonder how much they were paid to sing his praises like that?

.

Best Recording Package?

.

Suit & Tie does not deserve to be nominated for Best Music Video. That about it.

.

Yes it's mad slow @ work. lol

I dunno why JT is nominated for Music Video? He isn't the director, or editor!!!!! David Fincher should be the one nominated! And it's a very regular video! I don't get what's special about it.

Timbaland thought its 2006 so he went with his dated / boring beats and caused poor JT a lack of a major categories nomination!

Jay Z is so overrated and there are many rappers deserve his shots!

As for Adele, this is her Grammy schedule:

2012: Best Pop Solo Performance: Someone like you

2013: best pop solo performance: set fire to the rain (live at the royal albert hall)

2014: best pop solo performance: skyfall

2015: .......................................: skyfall (live in the studio)

2016:.........................................: skyfall (live in her living room)

she wins everything!

Justin Timberlake's "Suite & Tie" was nominated for Best Video because he's Justin Timberlake.

.

Glad someone else agree with me on Timbaland's recycled beats. I mean, just this past weekend I was talking to someone in the car with the radio turned down really low but not completely muted. And in between talking I heard, "Cry Me A River" drum track as background music. Then I thought why are they playing such an old song. I turned it up and realized that, oops, that's Justin's song, "Mirrors". Timbaland should be shot for that one. I guess they thought they could recreate the success CMAR had with a similiar/same beat. IDk. I call it lazy. However, you know somewhere, Justin and Timbaland are both feeling snubbed being that they had the biggest selling album of the year. I'm surprised one of them hadn't done a Jill Scott and cried about it on Twitter or MySpace yet. lol

.

Hell, I'm started believe Tony V and all his conspiracy theories now with Jay Z getting 9 nods. lol What up Tony, I see ya?!

.

Yeah, Adele's is now like The Carter Family (Beyonce & Jay Z), John Mayer, Tony Bennett, and Any Pop/Rock band from the 60's, 70's or 80's, Guaranteed nominations.

I'm wondering if Natalie Cole might be nominated for Best Jazz Album for her "Natalie Cole En Espanol" CD? Be a nice feather in her cap of almost 40 years in da bizz! Quizas pueda ganar otro premio por su musica! (Perhaps she'll win another award for her music!) wink

Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

The only nod that i have any interest in or glad it was given, was "Cut me Some Slack" in the Rock Song category, Paul McCartney and Dave Grohl from the Sound City film which its soundtrack was one of the best records of the year not even looked at. Though i think "The Man that Never Was" Rick Springfield and Dave Grohl was a much better track i knew the grammy's were not going to nominate Rick, though he did beat Bruce Springsteen "the river" for Rock Male Grammy back in 1982

Is that good or bad lol!

I know someone had mentioned "scratching their head" with the way some nominees are organized, i always knew Rick Springfield Won for "Jessies Girl" in 1982 and that he beat out Springsteen ironically since so many call him Rick Springsteen by accident lol, but look who else was nominated and tell me thats not a scratch your head moment

"Young Turks"-- Rod Stewart (ok he is pretty much rock)

"dedication" ---Gary US Bonds (great song but Rock??)

"Superfreak" ---Rick James (yup mr funk and rb, was up for Rock performance)

To me back then was much more "free" than now, IMO the times have not opened "minds" in terms of music and putting people in boxes, they have closed them.
