I just finally caught the Soul Train Awards and thought to myself, why can't R Kelly keep it classy like Keith Sweat?? Keith Sweat's music is definitely sensual/sexual in it's content but not sleazy and vulgar like R Kelly's. Why can't R Kelly try this approach? I heard snippets of Black Panties and can't believe women are really into it. The songs are so gross. What is wrong with people??

Also from watching the Soul Train awards I thought, what does someone like Dionne Warwick think of these new artists? She never took her clothes off and girated her hips and she's been around a long time. I'm no prude either but things just seem out of hand these days with these "artists".

I loved Keith Sweat's first 2 albums --especially the first-- but there's no comparison. R. Kelly is a better singer in my opinion and unquestionably a superior producer.

I think Dionne Warwick is highly disappointed

we all new sensuality and sex is a natural occurence....that's the beautiful part

but music has become way too oversexualized to the point where love songs/slow jams have been phased out the scene......

it's like how can we really honor the luminaries who truly made a rewarding contribution to the arts when many make music that discredits it and marginlizes it......

I highly enjoyed Keith Sweat's performance on the awards show as well, and not only was his performance classy, his whole demeanor/wardrobe was classy as well. Bottom line is that Keith and Kelly are two completely different artists from different eras (though the years weren't that far apart). It's all about what type of audience they are targeting. Kelly wants to stay relevant so he's going for the young rauchy crowd, though his loyal fans aren't that young anymore, are going to buy his rauchy stuff no matter what. Keith, on the other hand, has made music that has stood the test of time. It seems that he's comfortable and confident doing whatever he's doing now, while it seems to me that Kelly is falling all over himself constantly talking about the same damn thing in the same way over and over and over again.

I love them both. Alot of people say Keith "whines" when he sings lol but I think he puts emotion in his singing and his voice fits his sensual music. I just wish R. Kelly would stop chasing the charts and make more grown folks music. Love Letter was great and even Write Me Back was good.On other note, they both look really good for their ages.
