My baby sister has been trying to get me to go to this spot that she goes to on Sunday nights, for well over a year. I've always had a - reason...ok...an excuse - not to go. lol

Well, last night she came over and threatened me with violence. I'm the oldest and since the day I turned 18 years old, I have been her legal guardian.

When she just would not take "Hell, no!" for an answer and threatened to - "kick me out of my chair and drag me there by my hair kicking and screaming" eek - I just KNEW she had lost her motherfu... was quite serious! whofarted

So reluctantly, I went with full intention on reading her ass from cover to cover because I'm well aware of her musical tastes...and she KNOWS good and damn well... that I do not want any parts of that shit!

I cannot even wrap my brain around how happy I am that she stood up to me and made me go! Because what I witnessed was damn near a 2013 carbon copy of that video you just posted. nod

These young cats were bringing it!!! It's hard as hell for younguns to impress ME now-a-days but I swear...by the end of the night...I was freaking FLOORED! faint

Apparently, this spot is a well kept secret in the D, and you can only get in with somebody that's already been and is in good standing. So I can't share the videos and I had to hear, "I TOLD YOU SO!" 'til my sister passed her happy ass out, in my guest room then got up and left for work, not too long ago but in complete honesty, that's alright with me! Cause I know exactly where I'll be on Sunday nights from now on! falloff

Hey, I love Herbie Hancock, we had a modern dance routine to "Watermelon Man" in high school

My brother was a CHP police officer and pulled over a speeding car on the freeway and

when he asked for his ID, it was Herbie Hancock! needless to say he never got that speeding ticket!

Nice!
Did the band have a name or were they just a group of musicians getting together and jamming?

They had the instruments just set up and everybody that comes in, that wanted to get on them had to sign a piece of paper (I'm assuming a waiver...nod) on a clip board.

So the artists kept changing and there was no "defined" group but my dear tA - I do believe that you know that I would never, ever...try to bullshit you in any way! When I say that YOU would have loved them...I am so not fronting! If I had your phone number - I swear on everything that I hold dear - I'd have called you...directly - just to let you hear what I was witnessing! nod

Just a little hint to Chriss...where I was...is actually where Motown's ELITE used to do the very same kinds of gatherings. Only true Detroiters KNOW exactly where that is. wink

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

OK, that was a jam session and the clipboard was the "sign-up" sheet.

When it's organized, cats get called up to play in the order they signed up.
