How would you rate Annie Lennox as a singer?

One of the best of all time or slightly above average?

I'm nearer your first option.

I personally think she is one of the best period. I love her tone and what she does with her voice.

Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

Okay so a year ago we went down this same path but there is a

big difference between these two posts.

The older A. Lennox post is missing my two cents.

Now that I have added that to the conversation we can consider it closed. biggrin

One of the best and most versatile vocalists of the last 30 years. Nobody can convey a sense of drama like Annie... or a sense of dread, or sadness, or love and devotion... her voice is so incredibly expressive.

She also has an experimental side, especially w/ Eurythmics, that I love.

One of my all time favorite female voices. I wish she wouldn't put out so much depressing music.

Annie's probably my favorite female singer. She has soul, but doesn't use ridiculous histronics and melismas to convey it. I saw a video of her just singing and playing the piano and it was one of the most heartfelt and incredible performances I've ever seen. I know she's not exactly relevant these days but I'd love to see her put out just a solo vocal/piano record.
