Many Versions of Wichita Lineman Are there any other versions of this song?
She's not famous, but still a great version. [Edited 11/14/13 23:33pm]

Nobody will ever do it as well as Glenn Campbell. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

True. But it shows how incredibly well written the song is that it is hard to screw it up.

Jimmy Webb, who actually wrote the darned thing, cathces flack for not having the vocal chops that Glen Campbell has, but I've always loved his piano work on his renditions of the song, especially during the refrain...
And this, by far, is the sexiest version I've heard, though I think it lacks the introspective melancholy the male-sung versions have...

Freddie Hubbard / Kool & The Gang You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
