Super Rare Rick James tracks on youtube

This has Rick James and Hot lips Hollywood Star a song I was looking for on this forum a long time ago. This also has two songs by Gorilla. I didn't know Rick was the front man for a band called Gorilla until I saw this video.I knew about his old bands- White cane, Heaven And Earth, Hot lips, Salt And Pepper and the first Stone City Band, but I never heard of Gorilla. I can't find anything about tham on the net and Rick didn't mention them in his bio.

there's actually alot of rare Rick James songs out there, including an entire unreleased album from 1989 called 'Kickin'.It would be cool if his estate could strike a deal and release some type of rare songs collection.

I thought his music took an unfortunate and derivative turn toward the end. I can barely listen to his post-Thrownin' Down output, except for a few distinguishable songs from each album.

Here he is with Neil Young, when they were in a group called, "The Mynah Byrds".

Awww! God Bless Rick! It's sad how he made some wrong choices in his life, but if we look beyond those choices and the accompanying chaos, underneath all the layers of hostility, drug use, jail time, etc..., he was first and foremost a poet and master musician.

Sadly, all that was overshadowed by the bad press that permeated his career. Oh, and let us not forget that it was HE who discovered and gifted us with Teena Marie! I'm not making excuses for his behavior because I never knew him personally. I'm merely focusing my attention on his musical talent, accomplishments, contributions and nothing else. These sound GREAT btw! His voice is crystal clear and melodious unlike what it had become by the time of his un4tunate early passing.

I think Cold Blooded is a great album, and Glow is very underrated.I think the problems began with the next album The Flag.
