FBI dropped probe into Michael Jackson abuse of 2 boys so he could meet Reagan Investigation into Michael Jackson’s abuse of two boys was ‘dropped so he could meet Reagan at the White House’ F BI files show allegations against singer date back to 1978 By DAILY MAIL REPORTER http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2357836/Investigation-Michael-Jacksons-abuse-boys-dropped-meet-Reagan-White-House.html
A FBI investigation into claims that Michael Jackson had been abusing two young boys was dropped so he could meet the President. According to recently released FBI documents, the case was dropped to avoid embarrassing President Reagan, who was due to give the Thriller singer an award. The disclosure is in a 333-page document that shows allegations of abuse made against the singer dated back to 1978, when Jackson was 20, according to the Sunday People. The revelations also come a week after details emerged of how Jackson spent $35 million to silence several families who claimed he had abused their children. In the documents, released after a Freedom of Information Act request, FBI agents confirmed that they did not follow up claims that two Mexican children were being abused ‘because Jackson was to receive an honor at the White House from the President’. The singer was presented with an award by President Reagan in May 1984 – the year his album Thriller won eight Grammys – for his efforts to end drink-driving in teenagers. He was awarded the Presidential Public Safety Communication Award after allowing his song Beat It to be used in a public service campaign, according to CNN. During the ceremony President Reagan said: ‘Michael Jackson is proof of what a person can accomplish through a lifestyle free of alcohol or drug abuse.’ He added: ‘If Americans follow his example, then we can face up to the problem of drinking and driving, and we can, in Michael’s words, beat it.’ Jackson, who died of an overdose in 2009, was also invited to the White House to meet President Bush sr and his family in 1990. Other allegations made in FBI files include details of a phone call the singer made to a 13-year-old British boy, who he befriended in 1979 after the child asked for his autograph. In the phone call to Leeds teenager Terry George, Jackson told the boy he was masturbating while he spoke to him. In 1992, a file details how a couple made a complaint about being kept awake by the ‘questionable noises’ from a sleeper train compartment that was being shared by Jackson and a 12-year-old boy. No official action was taken in any of the case listed in the documents. In a FBI file obtained separately from these, a costume designer said that Jackson had ordered magazines containing child pornography when he toured Europe with the Jackson 5.
