Boz Scaggs - Lowdown

Can't believe i only just discovered this funky tune a few weeks ago, i mean what a tune!, kinda reminds me of "Dazz" by Brick, but possibly even better! http://www.youtube.com/wa...QK_QAUa8Dw

We're here, might as well get into it.

Great track. This is one of those "Wait a minute, I thought he was black!" songs that were so common in the 70s. wink

Yeah took me while to track it down, convinced it was George Benson or Curtis Mayfield.

We're here, might as well get into it.

SoulAlive

a summer of '76 classic music This song crossed over in a big way...pop,R&B,disco.....it was being played everywhere, back in the day.

interesting trivia: When the producers of 'Saturday Night Fever' began filming the movie, they used this song in one scene and had planned to include it on the soundtrack. However,Boz's managers wouldn't allow them to use it.Thus, this song missed out on being on a soundtrack LP that sold 22 million copies.

the album,as a whole,is really really good.

"Lido Shuffle" and "What Can I Say" are superb songs.

This song is easily one of those 'first listen loves' that never sounds old. I loved it since the first time I heard it in '76 at 4yrs old. It was great hearing him perform it live a few months ago at Stern Grove.
