Michael vs. Jermaine Part 1: Off The Wall vs. Let's Get Serious

1979 Let's Get Serious vs. Off The Wall

First let's start with 1979's releases of Off the Wall and Let's Get Serious. OTW always get's linked with Destiny, but it should be next to with Jermaine breakthrough LP. Off The Wall charted at #3 Pop / #1 Black. Let's Get Serious at # 6 Pop / #1 Back (all higher than Destiny at #11 Pop / #3 Black.)

Let's Get Serious vs. Don't Stop Til You Get Enough
Rock With You vs. You're Supposed To Keep Your Love From Me
Working Day and Night vs. Burnin' Hot
Get On The Floor vs. You Got To Hurry Girl
Off The Wall vs. Feelin' Free
She's Out Of My Life vs. We Can Put It Back Together
I Can't Help It vs. Where Are You Now?

Girlfriend, It's The Falling In Love and Burn This Disco Out are leftover as it's a 10 vs 7 track album battle. You all can include those 3 and take out three others, but I fave those as the weakest tracks from OTW.

Off The Wall is a pure masterpiece....Michael's best album.

Let's Get Serious has its moments, but come on....it can't compare to OTW smile

This may be the dumbest thread of the year. & this is coming from someone who made a thread about putting Veet hair remover on testicles. neutral

You should be shunned for the thought of even making a thread like this. disbelief

الحيوان النادلة ((((|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|)))) ...AND THAT'S THE WAY THE "TITTY" MILKS IT!

Let's Get Serious does not even come close to Off The Wall.

Off The Wall is a classic.

I agree with everything said here. "Off the wall", from beginning to end is a masterpiece. For me, it's the only one of michael's albums, that can be played from beginning to end, without skipping; my favorite album.

The only thing I like about Jermaine's album, is the title track. As for that, I like the 12" version, with the extra verse that is left out of the radio release.

I don`t know why it`s popular to hate on Jermaine just cause MJ is king of pop....

I`m sure you all know that one of MJ`s OTW singles was song of the year on the billboard`s at the end of 1980 (Rock With You I believe), and on the r&b chart that same year, the same honor went to Jermaine. I was actually happy to learn that since I was familiar with some of jermaines 80s stuff too though I was really young

I admit I havent heard the whole jermaine album, so I cant really do a ranking, but I will say OTW is great. Every time I revisit it, it puts me in such a great mood, something his later albums are no longer doing for me, or at least not right now cause though they make me think a lot and dig deep, Im exhausted from it and just want to dance, relax and have fun, which is what OTW is all about

Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, even his early Motown albums like Ben will be put to the test by big brother Jermaine!
