your own top 40 radio playlist part 1

one of the nicest things about Prince's ONA cd was his
WNPG playlist listed in the lavish booklet.

which got me thinking:
if you were the program director of your own RADIO STATion
what tunes would you put on your top 40 list?

excluding PRINCE-who we know would be on ALL our lists:
here's some of my faves that would get played over and over
on my station rotation:

sly & family stone-you caught me smilin'
helter skelter-beatles
up on the roof-drifters
pulled up-talking heads
strawberry letter 23-brothers johnson
cold shot-stevie ray vaughan
lullaby of broadway-sarah vaughan
the way you do the things you do..temptations

the TERM top 40 is a generic one.

the radio station i'm talking about is an alternative one.
that has no boundaries. its plays ALL types of music.

in other words anything goes!!!

more picks by me on my station:
tighten up-archie bell & drells
brown sugar-d'angelo
quiet afternoon-stanley clarke
footsteps in the dark-isley brothers
maggot brain-funkadelic
night nurse-gregory issacs
trouble-lindsay buckingham
goodnight sweetheart-spaniels
sign your name-TTD

again...any tune any style...as many choices as you want!
