Identity

This is most satisfying song she's offered since "100 Percent". I prefer this Mariah - -somewhat stripped down production approach, plaintive, piano accompaniment, and singing with emotion. Finally!

its ok - vocally strong though.

I wish she did more songs with Carole King - that would be amazing!!

Considering the song doesn't contain any rappers and sounds more soulful and mature than she has in a while, I really like it! It's not catchy and will probably not become a mainstream hit, but that's not a bad thing. If this one indicates what the rest of the album will be like, I'm happy!

I hope everyone who said "no more rappers" LOVES and supports this, or she will just go back to the rap formula.

Absolutely STUNNING! If ANYONE can bring back REAL R&B, it's Mariah and by the sound of it here, there is promise on the horizon. We can only hope. Tenderness has been M.I.A. in the R&B music scene for TOO LONG! I'm hoping this goes to the TOP! smile

Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

I'm not loving the arrangement of this song. But, vocally, she sounds great! She's singing out loud again! None of that whispering like a little girl stuff. But, if they want radio to pick up on this, they are going to have to come up with a different mix because I really don't hear this fitting in on any radio format that way it is. I'm just happy to hear her singing something that isn't trendy.

One of my favorites from my favorite Mimi album. Yes, it would be incredible if she went back to this type of traditional R&B. But, it ain't gonna happen anytime soon.

Maybe she is actually realizing that the old rent a rapper routine ended and hasnt sold in eons, her vocals sound good, i like that they arent buried in the track, she sounds live, NO involvement from any other artists, thank u jesus, can we ban the freaking collabos from EVERYONE at this point.

Letting go of the cougar-on-a-rampage act? Whoops, nope.

Perhaps letting go of the art of photo shop? Or perhaps the art of letting go of wearing clothes 2 sizes too small?

This lady will never stop working those computer fingers to the bone working that adobe into hyperdrive.

I'll give her props to singing, but didn't Adele do it and show us all that people will buy a singer's CD.

Nice. It's good to hear that voice sounding sweet and intact. It would be a good move if this were the direction she chose to go in for the remainder of this projects material. No over-produced RnB fused with Hip-Hop track, that drowns out her voice which is her greatest asset. No Jay Z, Nas, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar or J-Cole guest appearances. To be followed by the "Uninevitable" P-Diddy Remix!

Keep the music stripped down and all her clothes on. Tell some deep and personal grown folk stories and let her fans have an intimate musical vibe with her and that voice. And make sure she calls Dianne Warren, for atleast one of the tracks.

Here's Mimi and Jimmy Fallon surprising her biggest fans with a performance of her new song. Jimmy told them they were getting a chance to hear her new song first, but he left out the fact that Mariah would make an impromptu appearance.
