The album for the most part doesn't fit top 40. So, no format to showcase her music. Sales will drop off. But the album did well.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

I don't know last week it was still on the top 200..but way lower than the previous week for example ..but no surprised she's going down in charts the album has been out since september and especially yes it was critically acclaimed but she didn't receive airplay for any of her singles ..not even for primetime and shaking my head for this! so...I hope at least in some grammy nominations..first because she deserves it plus that could increase the sales again, or she could try with another single but if they didn't give her airplay for the previous ones I don't think this can help that much..she has one of the best albums of the year( again!)..and I think she herself was kinda hoping for a little help from radios for this album..that's why she tried to be a little more commercial probably..but it didn't happen.the industry keep "boycotting" her music, but at the same time it's clear she doesn't want to change her art for more record sales( we're talking about a woman who is making double concept albums in 2013!and a black woman who refuses to get naked around and acting ratchet but focuse on her creativity) she could try to leave Atlantic records maybe and find another record label to do a partnership since she has her own record label ( without of course trying to turn her into the next miley cyrus thanks)..maybe it could help for getting a little airplay..

in the end we're also living in an era where people don't buy albums a lot..especially albums sales are suffering a lot at the moment even gaga and katy perry with their promotions and airplays sold 200000 and something on the first week same for miley after all that attention on her recently. lorde with all that universal promotion and with a number one hit sold 100000 and something on the first week etc)

so I don't know actually what decision she could make for her career at the moment..maybe just keep doing the music she likes her public is increasing after all since her debut album 3 years ago..her north american tour was basically sold out everywhere..so...I don't know..

i'll still plan to get it regardless of chart position. I was just curious. yeah, the industry has been sucking monkey balls for a while now, so not surprised, but i thought she'd get more airplay for PT too, but i don't listen to the radio so even if it did, i wouldn't know unless they OVERPLAYED it. but yeah, hopefully Grammy noms will come by the half dozen and she'll it'll get traction

yes I was hoping for that too..considering it is a more classic R&B song than her usual sound, a song about sex/love,a duet with Miguel who seems to be the jolly for the featurings this year lol etc..it has a really nice video and all..she received a little airplay for the song but very little confused and I need to say that primetime is actually a very good r&B single ..maybe too much for R&B radios at the moment ?lol anyway one of the best albums of the year in general cool

Got my cd today and I must say the snippets on Amazon don't do it justice!

This is easily the most interesting, refreshing and creative effort I have heard all year...I could do without some of the dj segues but other than that this is the most enjoyment I've gotten from a new album since Condensate. cool

I'm liking this one even more than Metropolis and Archandroid and both of those were quite good.

Janelle is so amazing to me so I have to agree with U biggrin

I usually don't care for rap much but I find DJ Crash Crash hilarious. I was thinking about how people today are labeled terrorists if they question things or speak out about injustices. This dj is so smooth with the inflection of his voice putting people in their place it cracks me up. For some reason I imagine some authorities listening to the CD to see if there's any threats or terror in that or any CD that comes out today. When it all comes down to 'shake your ass' I hope he has their attention and proves the motives behind the music: 'Love not War, we are tired of the fires, quiet no riots, we are jamming, dancing and loving. Don't throw no rock, don't break no glass, just shake your ass. Ooh just shock it shake it baby with the Electric Lady......' lol

she's probably already considered a terrorist so LOL the skits and the album in general have profound topics.. it deals with injustices a lot: discriminations of every form..she said herself that the androids are metaphors for who's considered the other: the minorities vs the majority, the fear that people have of everything that is different from them..but I love how she always doesn't make these profound topics sound heavy or judjmental on her part because she keeps the music funky,poppy,entertaining..(I always thought that janelle is a great lyricist by the way I love her lyrics

she's poetic, deep...). My favorite skit is the one with dj crash crash responding to the the people who were negative about cindi and one guy calls saying that robot love is wrong, robot love is queer...priceless!...

in the end I think the huge Parliament Funkadelic influence is evident on Janelle and her Wondaland arts society movement.. razz

Simply one of the best albums of 2013. Really doubt it will get tons of radio airplay but for anyone who likes quality music its great!
What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?
