Why does LA Reid have such a stank rep?

I mean, what sets him apart from Clive Davis and others re being a world class stinker? And why has he been canned from all his jobs at record labels?

Cause he is known for water down his artists like crazy. That is a big thing in the industry of course...

But, he is known for taking it to an extreme. He will take an artist and make them do a genre they are completly uncomfy with... and he will force them to have an urban or pop look depending.

He is also known for leaving his artists dry if they don't go gold or platinum.

Pink is one of the few people to stand up to LA and succeed. He made her break from her girl group, he made her go r&b, he made her try to appeal to the urban crowd.

She was uncomfertable with this and forced her way into making the album she wanted. She even openly disses him in Don't Let Me Get Me when he was still producing her lol

No offence but it might as well be a part of a CEO's job to be like this. Particually the ones that run these big ass conglomerates, which is unfortunately what pretty much all the (remaining) big record labels are now.At least LA Reid was once a musician, songwriter and producer. Mind you, so was Berry Gordy, and like Walt Disney, he may of been a visionary, but he too had a "stank rep" and then some.Mr Reid answers to whatever huge ass company he works for I Imagine anyway, and whoever that is, they are just a bunch of suits who probably don't even listen to music, let alone have a passion for it (at least Berry Gordy and Clive Davis did).

I think he's one of the most overrated music execs in the business and don't understand how he keeps getting these CEO jobs. He ruins every label he heads and he's a known over spender. His only real success was LaFace, and that was a smaller boutique label, with a streamline roster, that was operated under several bigger corporate parents. Sony Music may as well call up Andre Harrell to replace him when they finally realize that Reid has done virtually nothing notable for Epic.

LOL, didn't Andre completely fuck up Motown in the mid 90's? I know he had Uptown, which was great, but again, like LA Reid perhaps, they both should stick to smaller sub labels. Who would of thought Vincent Herbert of 3 boys from Newark fame would executive produce and A&R Lady Gaga LOL. Not that he is a head of a label (to my knowledge) but that was a turn up for the books LOL.
