Britney Spears claims she's under a lot of pressure to make hyper-sexual music videos -- but now, Britney says ... she's over it.

31-year-old Britney called in to The TJ Show on AMP 103.3 in Boston this morning ... and when the conversation turned to her racy new video for "Work B**ch," Brit made it clear she's being pushed too far.

"A lot of sex goes into what I do. But sometimes I would like to bring it back to the old days when there was like one outfit through the whole video, and you’re dancing the whole video, and there’s like not that much sex stuff going on."

She continued, "It’s about the dance and it’s about being old school, it’s like keeping it real and just making it about the dance. I’d love to do a video like that.”



Britney also said the original cut for the music video was too risque ... and she had to put her foot down to protect her reputation:

"Oh my god, we showed way more skin and did way more stuff for the video then what is actually there. Like, I cut out half the video because I am a mother and because, you know, I have children, and it’s just hard to play sexy mom while you’re being a pop star as well."

"I just have to be true to myself and you know, feel it out when I do stuff.”

What's interesting -- the video for "Work" is probably the least sexualized video she's done ... maybe ever.

I would like to bring to the old days when musical talent (singing, songwriting and playing) was the order of the day. Britney, quit whining. You decide this is the moment when you want to put your foot down to the industry? FOH

Man, that letter from Sinead O'Connor is just so right-on.

It applies to EVERY woman in the music business. I've not ever supported O'Connor in the past but i have to say, that letter is the best thing I've read all year.

Not to mention the song is "Throb" redux. But I ain't complainin'. I've always responded to "Throb". Pretty much instantly.

Note--they "did" the stuff for the video, according to her, meaning I guess that they shot all the footage. It's only in the editing afterward that her "that's too much" apparently kicked in. So... I suspect it's not that she didn't want to be portrayed that way, so much as that it didn't really work.

But who knows. Everybody seems to want to back away from being accused of being "Miley"--but whatever.

I commend Britney for having the courage to shed true light on what's really going on

this is an indictment of this sorry music industry of today

where white women, black women, hispanic women, asian women, etc. are being asked to bare all so people get get their rocks off and none of this crap has anything to do with music

Its a lot more to do with the underlying messages put out there by male artists too. "Hustling" is another word for "prostituting".

that's definitely included in the mix too

Speaking of copying Janet again! Britney just revealed the title of her new album.

"Britney Jean"!! Copying Janet's self titled album "Damita Jo". Which was also her eighth studio album I swear it never ends!! Its also her second self titled album just like Janet.

Britney isn't copying Janet anymore. She's moved on to Chinese pop stars!

Also, if Britney's video derives some slight inspiration from elsewhere, I don't have to try to figure out what it has to do with Britney's song--besides, I don't think you appreciate the subtle and significant modifications they did for "Work Bitch": instead of two people on the circle, there's just ONE (they could have just duplicated Britney in the special effects room--but they were creative); that's a big WHITE square in the second scene, not a black one (which just changes everything, doesn't it--at the very least, they probably lit something differently, and it may have taken an extra coat of paint); and, seriously, the last one is nothing at all alike--Britney's way the heck UP IN THE AIR for her dogwalker pose, and she's got a crazy train coming off of her back. Also, I only count 6 people writhing powerlessly in front of Britney, not seven--which continues the motif of having one less than the original, as in the first pair of images.

Copycat, schmopycat--Britney never gets the credit she deserves.
