Mccartney Ive yet to see him in concert I hope I will in my lifetime. PM&Wings music was and is one of the musical greats I listened to growing up whole heartedly .. Beatles of course they were good but I think PM just upped the bar with Wings n everything after ..

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

The career he has made after The Beatles has many, many interesting moments. I have the deepest respect for McCartney and I hope he'll be with us for a long time. ----- I hope you have the chance to see him live, jon. I managed to do it two years ago (though I had to travel to Germany, because the chances to see him in Spain were zero), and the experience was wonderful.

I like Paul, but his voice has not been very good lately. I got to see him in the 90's in Long Island I think or Jersey and his voice was fantastic. He even said I'm in good voice tonight. I'm glad I can get some stuff on DVD that sound great. Like this one: Just Music-No Categories-Enjoy It!

His new album is his best in years. He's done it again. I've seen him in concert a few years ago. Easily one of my best concert experiences. He did not slow down at all and will be around till he's in his 90s. I'm convinced.

When it comes to pop music, he is inimitable.

I think Paul is still the consummate craftsman when it comes to his work as a pop songwriter. No one else alive can still produce such tuneful, beautifully crafted material. [Edited 11/8/13 4:42am]

It's very hard to describe Paul in terms that are above and beyond that of "great". Of course he is great, but to me is just IS music. The musical landscape that everyone alive now is accustomed to simply would not be the same without Paul McCartney.

Have to disagree with you on this one jon1967. McCartney is great but his solo work doesn't quite measure up with his work in the Beatles IMHO. I sat outside the stadium to hear his concert this summer (with about 5000 other people) and in the warmup recorded music before the show it was all McCartney's own music!! That told me all I needed to know about Sir Paul's ego. I mean really! There's a long tradition in rock 'n' roll where you play other people's music before the show to warmup the crowd. For McCartney to play his own music struck me as the height of arrogance. [Edited 11/8/13 13:01pm] [Edited 11/8/13 13:03pm]

For shame he did not play music from 40 years ago that he wrote with his dead ex best friend?Especially for the people who didn't pay for tickets out in the lot?
The ego on that one.

Davy Jones says Paul could have been a member of The Monkees but John Lennon couldn't.
