have fun and enjoy! smile

and let me know how it was. I'll see them in February in Vienna. I'm not really the biggest fan ever personally, but to my wife they are what Earth Wind & Fire are to me, so there we go smile

btw, last time we saw them was on 9/11.... I remember vividly on our drive to the show we heard about the second tower collapse, the Shanksville crash, evacuations of embassies and skyscrapers and so on and so on.... and during the concert I was heavily trying to get news & updates about the situation (this was pre-smartphone era). for a while it was even possible they would cancel the show.

what a day....

I went to a Radiohead-concert in Berlin on 9/11, I know exactly what you´re saying.

See the man with the blue guitar, maybe one day he`ll be a star...

Well, if my past experiences are anything to go by, they will shite all over everyone you've seen recently. If DG is on form, they are one of the best live acts out there.

LOVE Depeche.

Give Fletch a snog for me lol

Well, it was great! as expected. But man... a few things to tell

1. Dave Gahan is nasty! he rode the microphone, when he did a question of time and said ''with my little one'' he grabbed his diclk lol he took off his shirt slowly and the young girls went crazy. And he touched his nipples during Master And Servant then jacked off the mic stand lol just didn't expect him to do that! and at 51.

2. Martin Gore played 4 different kind of guitars an he is damn good! he played blues, metal, and country.

3. It is true what the say about Fletcher... my gosh he just stands there and does nada. The other keyboardist was very good though!

4. They played a lot more songs off Ultra & SOFAD then i expected. Those 2 are personal faves wink

The Set List

Welcome To My World
Angel

Walking In My Shoes
Precious
Black Celebration

Policy Of Truth
Should be Higher
Barrell Of A Gun
The Child Inside
Home
But Not Tonight (Performed by Martin Gore on vocals!)
Heaven
Sooth My Soul (Best track on the new album!)
A Pain That I'm Used To
Master & Servant
Useless
A Question Of Time
Enjoy The Silence (People went ape shit when this played)
Personal Jesus (Martin started with a country twag riff then went straight to metal!)

Encore
Shake The Disease (Sung accoustic by Martin Gore)
Condomnation (Sung by Gore)
Halo(Goldfrap Remix Version)
Just Can't Get Enough
Never Let Me Down Again

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

Shit i wish that was the case. I'm not going to lie music that was once seen as ''gay'' is seen as cool now by most hipsters and ''straight people'' lol

For instance you ever been on Rateyourmusic.com? Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Erasure, George Michael etc. All have very high ratings on there.. and this is manly a hipster site lol PSB and DM albums have some albums rated almost as highly as a Zepplin album.

Gay people back in the day seemed to have betetr taste! now Britney, Beyonce, Rihanna, Demi Lavato, backstret boys, Nicki Minaj etc. Are who have taken over gay clubs and ''culture'' "roll"

Yuck I know dead . But you know what I mean though. Groups like DM and Soft Cell catered to the gay crowd back in the day and even if that's not who's listening to them now that audience is who they are associated with. Besides you know all the "deep and emotional" gay artists (who use their sexuality to make money) out now were jamming to Master and Servant when they were teens. Any a bit off task... Glad you had fun

Nah it is a good discussion me thinks smile

Speaking of which i am curious are The Smiths seen as a gay band? i mean dozens of people i know like them. Most are straight... but i have seen that Morrisey has a decently big following in gay culture supposedly.

New Order also have a gay followin but what about Joy Division? it is interesting who are seen as gay bands.

ON ONE MORE NOTE... Martin Gore has always looked gay as fuck lol and even on stage he wore eyeliner. I find him fascinating though... he looks kidn of like Beavis from Veabis & Butthead but kinder. Yet, he makes a lot of dark songs. He also is part black! but looks whiter than Aaron Carter lol

He is a unqiue mofo that is for sure.

Alan Fletcher just shows up to play one finger keyboard razz

Is Fletcher kind of like... ok ok this is a bad example. But is he like the Beyonce of the group?

No doubt Martin Gore has always been the body of DM writing lyrics and creating melodies. And Alan Wilder was the great piano and keyboardist making some great rifts and solos.

What exactly has Andy done? i hate to sound like a dick... but i can see why some fans question his abilities.

The drummer and other keyboard player were fantastic! especially the drummer he was amazing. But Andy... just kind of stood there and ''played'' like a robot.

I wouldn't call The Smiths a gay band, just a band with a big gay fanbase. Joy Division definetly not, way too gothic and raw. New Order is the definition of high produced synth pop though. They've been covered by gay people time and time again. Blue Monday has had an imense influence on house. I've always seen Martin Gore sort of like Prince sees himself: a straight man who just looks damn good dressing androgynous lol . I've always thought he has a cute face. I didn't know he was mixed. Takes Black Celebration to whole new meaning lol

I've always been under the impression that most of what we're hearing live is triggered by and under the control of his ten fingers and two feet. lol

Depeche Mode is sexy time music, doesn't matter if you're gay, straight, alien, single, couple... whatever!
