Kathy Sledge Being Sued By Her Sisters The Sister Sledge hit "We Are Family" is beginning to sound more like "We Are Dysfunctional Family."

Wow, this is very sad. This kind of thing happens a lot with bands, where they split up and then you have two versions of the same band performing but in this case it's worse cuz they're family. I hope they can work it out.

Kathy Sledge left the group twenty-five years ago. She's been in the group a few times since then. They had a Myspace page a few years ago with all 4 sisters. They appeared on Oprah too. I think it was the last season. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Well Kathy is Sister Sledge all the hits where Kathy's leads. Kathys daughter Gabrielle tours with her also as one of the singers. Joni and Debbie tour with their version also, I beileve does spot dates with Joni and Debbie. Joni, Debbie and Kim have released 2 projects with out the vocals of Kathy... Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

so after reviewing the documents, its JONI suing KATHY no where does it mention Debbie and Kim. Joni lives in Arizona, and I think someone is talking in her ear (husband) to sue her sister. Well I guess at this point, they should just drop the song, 'We are family' from their setlist.

Sister Sledge have been more or so apart for the last 20 years so this really doesn't surprise me. I saw SS allegedly performing during some '70s revival and I don't think Kathy and Kim were there. Just Joni and Debbie. I forgot who was singing who.

True and for it to go public. Why is it that some artists who are part of a family group, just don't work things out behind the scenes these days when they have disagreements? It's gets messy when these type of things go public.

Not unless they want Nile Rodgers to sue them.

Not really. Nile will still be credited and well paid as the original songwriter. Just ask Weird Al!
