From Darren Haye's Blog:

Lady GaGa On Michael Jackson:

”I really believed that the world killed him. I believe so strongly that he died of a broken heart”
I was so touched by the words spoken by Lady Ga Ga in this interview with Howard Stern I wanted to share them.

"You know I’m a massive Michael Jackson fan. The reasons go beyond his magical talent and abilities and I don’t need to constantly explain it beyond saying his music and his imagination were a saviour to me when I was hurting as a child. He was my first hero. He reminded me constantly that you didn’t have to look a certain way or act in a certain manner or fit in to be special. When I was being bullied at school I’d go home and find so much inspiration from Michael’s extraordinary spirit. When I was 15 his posters were like a big brother, a father, best friend and hero all wrapped up in one. When he died, like many people, I was in shock and I broke down when I watched his funeral. I felt that the world had killed him."

This interview with Lady Ga Ga is the first time I’ve ever heard someone describe my hero in the way I felt about him and I cried hearing her compassion about his legacy. You can hear these excerpts at the 55.53 mark and again at 59.10 But what she did to preserve his costumes and his legacy is wonderful.

Michael will never lose the quality that separates the merely sentimental from the truly heartfelt. It’s rooted in the blues, and no matter what genre Michael is singing, that boy’s got the blues.

Thanks for sharing this interview.

I'll admit that when I heard that she bought most of Michaels clothing at auction, I was upset. Not that I could afford to do it but it felt to me that she may have been robbing true fans of perhaps owning some of his things and that she was just doing it to make headlines and be her typical brand of weird.

It never occurred to me that she could be a true fan like so many of us. Also, the fact that she is properly preserving the items and not letting them be "scattered in the wind" as she puts it is admirable.

Truly, I can say with all honesty that if I ever was able to purchase even one of his jackets (preferably the sequins one that he wore at the BET awards) I would wear it everyday and possibly even sleep in it. So, it's better that she got them instead of me, lol.

I just realized that the seqin item that I want are the "pants" from the BET awards and yes, I'd wear those too.

G3000

This came from Rolling Stone Magazine, a week before Thriller was released in November 1982. They had no idea this album would change the world.

The nice thing about the releases of Thriller and to a lesser extent OTW ihe complete lack hype before and on their actual release. It made their success all the more surprising. The problem with subsequent albums is that they were over-hyped before and during their release. The hype was such that some fans truely believed that Bad and Dangerous, especially, would out sell Thriler.ler.
