A shameless dancefloor cash-in move – but with a few nice touches! You all know the big title cut "Ladies Night", so we won't bother to describe it – but we can say that the group wisely hooked up with Deodato, who produced, mixed, and even played keyboards on the album. Deodato keeps a nice jazzy punch in the tracks, while still moving towards the slickly produced funk sound that was the group's main approach at the time of the record. JT Taylor's on vocals, and the album's even got a few mellow cuts – like the crossover easy number "Too Hot" – amidst the midtempo 80s grooves. Other tracks include "Hangin Out", "Tonight's The Night", and "Got To Get You Into My Life". And honestly, if the album was the first by a new band, we might rate it higher – but since it's one of the last semi-solid efforts from Kool & The Gang, we're not as enthusiastic.

"Got To Get You Into My Life" is a Beatles song covered by EW&F in 1978 the song they're talking about is actually called "Got You Into My Life".

but anyway....I'm happy to see that a remaster is on the way.

Originally intended to be a tune about moving on with life, Gaye turned it into a paean to sexual craving and consummate desire after taking notice of Janis Hunter, a studio visitor that ultimately became the Motown legend’s second wife. The mood, feel, and tone of the record took off from there.

Probably nowhere. New release records are rarely cheap and it's 180 gram & Mobile Fidelity on top of it, which adds to the price. There's a CD version, but it's no cheaper, because Mobile Fidelity versions generally costs more than a regular CD. The only cheap way I know is to buy a used or unopened copy of the original release or just get the regular CD from Rhino/WB.

I am kinda curious though as to why they didn't include the deleted cuts that were scheduled to appear on "Call On Me" (originally titled "Sweet Delight")? Maybe they are still working on licensing those songs and we will end up getting those extra tracks on the final product.

I know, right ? That discount comes in handy lol !!! Yeah, I would've love to give these as christmas presents. I know a few folks who love those albums, and they'd be excited to open up a package with those titles inside.

I wish they would release the original 1980 Sweet Delight album on CD.That would be really interesting.I've never heard the album,and it was pulled from stores almost immediately after it was released.I wanna see why they felt the need to pull it and replace it with other tracks.

Yes, I posted the question on their FB page and they said they would probably know this week whether or not they will be able to license those deleted tracks or not. I think they are posting these titles 3 months in advance because they may have been trying to beat BBR to the punch. When BBR began to reissue some Evelyn titles a couple years ago, they made a statement that they were committed to reissuing her entire RCA catalog. FTG obviously was able to get the licensing first.

Fans of The Rutles can rejoice now that SonicPool Post production has completed audio and video restoration on the legendary Beatles parody The Rutles: All You Need is Cash. The Rutles, led by Monty Python's Eric Idle and Neil Innes debuted on Idle's 1975 BBC sketch comedy series Rutland Weekend Television. After an excerpt from the show was aired during an Idle-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live, SNL creator Lorne Michaels suggested that Idle produce a full length history of the prefab four in the form of a mockumentary, one of the first of its kind. Produced by Michaels' then fledgling Broadway Video studio, All You Need Is Cash premiered on NBC in 1978. Jonathan Gross, President of North American distributor Video Services Corp., says he's looking forward to the new release. "We've taken it to SonicPool to make it look better, sound better, and it's a great piece for the catalogue." SonicPool Post Production provided film cleaning, HD formatting and picture restoration for the project which used original film stock as source material. The new 5.1 mix was created by Connor Gross.

The forthcoming DVD/Blu-ray combo pack being released by VSC also comes with the original version of the 2004 follow-up The Rutles 2: Can't Buy Me Lunch along with the original SNL Rutles sketch, a new commentary/interview with Idle and more. Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $24.95.

They did this already. They need to do it right, tho. "The Lover In Me" bonus track is actually the Extended Dub Version, which is different from the Extended Version.

Yes, I posted the question on their FB page and they said they would probably know this week whether or not they will be able to license those deleted tracks or not. I think they are posting these titles 3 months in advance because they may have been trying to beat BBR to the punch. When BBR began to reissue some Evelyn titles a couple years ago, they made a statement that they were committed to reissuing her entire RCA catalog. FTG obviously was able to get the licensing first.

NICE!!! Yeah...BBR also cancelled their reissues of GK and The Pips' "Visions" and "Life" cuz FTG beat 'em 2 the punch in obtaining all those bonus trax from the vault. BBR & FTG are bangin' no matter WHAT they put out! It's just a matter of timing, I guess, huh?
