There will be no Kenya relief concerts because no one cares about Africa.

I Don't think it's all about people not caring for Africa. But these concerts have lot of ''middle men'' who do what they please with the money.

Hell, Bob geldof doesn't even know that the Ethiopian famine was caused by a dictator named Mengistu Haile Mariam and his army called "The Derg", and that most of the aid money from Live Aid was sent to The Derg to fund weapons. So fuck them.

It feels cynical to ask this and to create this thread.

It was a terrible tragedy but not something along the lines of the Haiti Earthquake or Hurricane Sandy.

Ethopia 30 years ago has nothing to do with Kenya today. In addtion, Kenya is one of the more stable countries in Africa. These terriorist organizations are going to continue to try a take over African countries and the rest of the world had better get over their prejudices and wake up.

Yeah I think there is some skepticism about doing big celebrity fundraisers for events that are caused by politics as opposed to natural disasters, where it's kind of obvious that you need a lot of money to fix what's been broken, and there is a political will to do it. That's where fundraising works.

The Nairobi incident is terrible, but I'm not sure what we'd be raising money for.

I never said a relief concert would bring awareness or change anything. I do find it offensive that some people on this board think a concert would be shady because it it taking place in Africa and I know a concert will not take place because the incident occured in Africa.
