Anyone else here a big fan of SWV?

I know someone who got to see them at House Of Blues in New York this decade, and I'm forever jealous!

Seems like I can't go a month without rocking one of their CDs at least once.

Right now, I am rocking ALL of their CDs like they just dropped.

I even have the Above the Rim soundtrack ("Anything remix"), Coko's solo album, and their album from last year, plus a few singles.

I would love to find more singles from their first album, beside "Right Here/Human Nature".

Huge fan!

This was my introduction to their music...

And even though its an underrated track, I loved this Missy Elliot written piece, back when she was a hot commodity as a song writer...

Coko's voice is extremely sexy. I remember hearing the original version by Missy long time ago, loved it as well (very underrated singer btw).

Been a fan since the beginning (the original "Right Here"). Cinny, you definitely need the "Weak" single because the radio edit has drastically improved lead vocals.

I'm a 90s baby and I love them much more than the other girl groups of that time. En Vogue is definitely second. I'm so happy they got back together for I Missed Us and I can't wait for their new reality show coming later in the fall.

YES!! Things like that.

I have been noticing different overdubs and instruments on the video mixes.

It's my favorite as well, but all of their pre-breakup albums have gems. (I haven't heard the post-breakup album.)

I liked them, but preferred Jade.

Better voices and harmonies, and nicer to look at.

I loved their debut joint! I don't recall a bad song on there. I think I remember it being pretty much flawless for a new group and damn were these girls horny as hell! lol I loved it. wink I remember them having the image of a female version of Bell Biv Devoe (BBD). Coco voice was always distinctive. Not just with the group but with everyone else on the scene at the time. You knew it was her whenever you heard her.

-

If I remember right, my favorite joint was the original "Anything" at the end of the tape. I think it was like a little interlude or something but I would rewind the hell out of that part because I loved the production, the harmonies and the overall mood of it.

Funny that you've mentioned the "horny as hell" point. I think they presented the flipside of the Clark Sisters lol meaning they're heavily influenced by them, but their stuff on the other hand wasn't so, um, sanctified lol

I was never a fan of "Black Pudd'n" for starters. lol Good album overall, but there was some filler IMO.

I love the original "Anything" as well, but I love the remix even more.

Their Christmas album is good though. They basically chose all the same songs as the Jackson 5 Christmas album.

Where did Harlepolis go? She got my playlist in May, and then I didn't make another one until August. Somewhere in between time, her profile was deleted.

I miss her so much! sigh sad As a matter of fact, I joined this site just for her. Grrr!

We said goodbye last June. She no longer works in Doha - where I'm from - she's trying to sort herself out for her grad school course, which she will start in East Bay university next winter. Busy little bee.

I've been trying to persuade her to have a FB account, but the girl is too lazy she'll probably neglect it the minute she makes one lol

Yes they were doing a 90's tour this summer with Blackstreet, Jodeci, etc.
3 years ago they came to my city on the Soul Food Festival with After 7, Confunkshun,Cameo,BarKays,Dazz Band and were late as hell and had to rush through a 4 song set just before Cameo came on. lol

those "package tours" can be alot of fun lol you get to see multiple acts, all on the same bill, for a decent price too.
