Fiona Apple or Alanis Morrissette?

Hmm, tough call. Not sure who to pick re the two angry girls of the 90s, lol. I might lean a bit more towards Fiona-brilliant lyrics.

Fiona Apple.

I like her singing much more.

Alanis has some good lyrics and she can sing. I like both artists, but Fiona, imho, is a better singer, lyricist, musician, performer.

Plus, I like how Fiona pronounces the word 'opinion' as "oh-pin-yun" and not "ah-oh-pih-hih-hih-hih-nee-yahn," like Alanis has a tendency to do.

I liked Alanis better in the 90's when they first started, but Fiona Apple is better now. Her last two records were great, some of the best stuff she's ever done. I do not care too much for Alanis recent music.

Alanis no doubt. I know Fiona has done some great albums in recent time but I just can't connect to it.

While I like Alanis quite a bit boxed (a friend pretty much forced me to listen to a lot of her less popular songs, and I enjoyed most of them!)

Fiona wins easily for me. EASILY

If you will, so will I

As I don't listen to women's voices much I am not familar with Fiona's music, sorry Joe boxed .

My ex is a fan of Alanis so I went to see her in concert several times and used to listen to her music in the car and I really like some of her songs, especially this one which is one of my favourite songs ever

I know nothing about Fiona Apple.

But I do know this about Alanis Morrissette:

Do not EVER go see her in concert, unless all she's going to do is play fully-plugged-in, full-rocking versions of the hits from "Jagged Little Pill".

Because otherwise, she will depress you to the point that only total inebriation will counteract all the stories and songs about how much her mother and every single boyfriend dicked her around for her entire life.

I saw that dang concert six or seven years ago, and it STILL bums me out when I think about it!

Jagged Little Pill is awful. "You Oughta Know" and "Ironic" are two embarrassingly bad hits of the 90s. The only time I ever thought Alanis Morissette was alright was when she covered "My Humps".

Needless to say, I would choose Fiona Apple any and every day over Alanis.

Alanis....When she came on the scene years ago she sang & performed as if she was casting a spell on stage and conjuring up Spirits. I think she's a great story-teller... Her Thin frame can unleash some Power.
