Little Richard Announces Retirement

Surprised this hasn't been posted here already.

Looks like it's the real deal this time sad .

The true 'King of Rock n' Roll' is 'done'.

http://ultimateclassicroc...-retiring/

Guess it had to come sooner or later, but still ...

'Woooooooo!!!

'Don't hate me 'cos I'm beautiful' wink

Could this be Prince in 25 years time?? eek

One of his fans keep editing his Wikipedia page saying he was "just taking a break". Ain't like he has a huge performing schedule anymore. In fact I think he's been semi-retired for some time. Like right after his hip and leg problems began really affecting him badly, I think that's when he quietly decided not to do as many performances.

Mr. Richard Wayne Penniman, the architect of Rock n' Roll has decided to retire. There's only one thing I can say about that...

Thank you, Little Richard for the whole lot of shakin' that's been going on because of YOU! heart

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

er

He earned it! Made some great rock & roll and without him there would be no Prince (yes, 25 years from now he just may look like that) wink

I forget where I read it or if a Celeb "said it", but I believe his retirement has more to do with health issues than Richard walking away from the stage. For Rock n Rollers like Richard they only call it quits when their Health stops them. I hope BET does a tribute in his honor..He's more than deserving..

This man is the reason rock and roll exists today and it's a shame that there hasn't been some sort of tribute or something in his honor. He is very deserving of it andI feel he should get his props while he's still here.

Go on and rest, sir. You've earned it.

Paul McCartney & Ronnie Wood recently spoke about Little Richard & Chuck Berry.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I love Little Richard. If Mr. Richard says its time to walk away, its time. The man has worked hard and long, its time for him to enjoy doing whatever else his interested in. God Bless him.
