So for us folks who didn't bother to watch, what did exactly happen between Kelly and Chante?
Kelly just really turned out to be the "mean girl" on the show. She lied and tried to get at Chante after they were working on a stage play. There was so much..
I think Chante broke a lot of it down in an interview I just listen to on another thread SoulAlive posted called R&B Divas Reunion: Chante Moore Sets The Record Straight: "We're Not Going On Tour"
On the show, the ladies were planning to do a stage performance called "Diva-logues".They all agreed on a specific director. For some reason,Kelly didn't like the director and actually fired him (!) and brought in another director. This made the other girls angry and they all got into a heated discussion.Instead of discussing things rationally,Kelly reached into her bag and pulled out some Timbalands (shoes) and a big jar of Vaseline....implying that she was ready to "throw down" with anyone who didn't agree with her decisions, smh.
She then quit the "Diva-logues" project, continued to act bitchy and Dawn agreed with her behavior and quit, too. On one occasion,Kelly dismissed the project, saying "It's cool...my calendar is filled anyway"...implying that HER career is still going strong and that she doesn't need to work with the other girls.
In recent weeks,Kelly tried to blame the show, claiming that they edited her comments to make her appear to be a bitch. But as Chante pointed out in the video I posted in the other thread, those were HER comments, her behavior, her actions. The show makes you appear as you really are. They're not masquerading anything.
Michel'le still wanting to work with Dre doesn't raise flags for me because if you saw the reunion, she was raised to think getting beat on was normal.
Whatever happened to Dee Barnes and why did Dre attack her?

DR DRE'S WOMAN-PUNCHING PROBLEM (1990-91) These days, Andre "Dr. Dre" Young might be known best as a respectable headphones salesman and the dude who keeps us from hearing Detox. But in the '90s, his remarkable, history-making stretch as a visionary producer ran in parallel to a period when he earned a reputation as a violent abuser of women. The most notorious incident involved Pump It Up! TV host Dee Barnes, over some truly trifling ish: In 1991, after Barnes interviewed Ice Cube, who had recently departed N.W.A, Dr. Dre decided that the group had been disrespected and physically attacked Barnes at a record-release party.
Hip-hop lore commonly refers to the time Dre "slapped" Barnes, with Dre later claiming, "it ain't no thing — I just threw her through a door." However, eyewitness reports were grislier, stating that he slammed Barnes against a wall, attempted to throw her down a stairwell, and kicked her in the ribs, before grabbing her hair and punching her in the back of her head as she tried to run away. Barnes sued Dre for nearly $23 million; the case was settled out of court, but the incident remains a lyrical touchstone. Lesser publicized, though, was a 1990 incident in which a drunken Dre allegedly punched a Ruthless Records labelmate, rapper Tairrie B, at the Grammys for refusing to do an Ice Cube-penned track on her album. She was paid off not to discuss the incident, but in later interviews, she would claim that Dr. Dre socked her in the mouth: "Full on. I didn't go down, so he punched me in the eye." These certainly weren't the only instances of artist violence against women during the '90s, but they remain some of the ugliest and most enduring.
Assuming that these allegations are true: why would Dr. Dre agree to work with someone who made such damaging accusations about him? Especially when it affects his reputation?

It's like Michel'le says, "he knows". He was the one who did it! I don't think anyone expects a victim to stay quiet for the sake of a reputation. Dr. Dre and Michel'le have both matured since, it was two decades ago.

That's just the problem. Why do people even think that's normal?

What if they are true?
Why make up something of that nature?
It IS true. I thought folks around back then knew it cuz Dre wasn't exactly discreet in his woman beating ways. I mean he beat Dee Barnes in front of a crowd of people, so why wouldn't he do it to Michel'e in private and public?!

Doug was a real punk about this whole Dee incident, but I think Dre had given him a beating for something too. He basically was paid off by getting a plum job at DR to keep quiet. Dee was paid off herself via her hubby at the time Ricky Harris, who is one of Snoop's cousins.
It was a shame all this went down cuz "Pump It Up" was a great show that had potential the be the West Coast version of "Yo MTv Raps" but this incident pretty much screwed that up.

Dre beat him up at the same time he beat Dee. I guess you have to be around that environment to understand why Doug probably didn't tell anyone about what Dre did. But me being the person I am, I would've told. I don't care if the whole side of Compton (in those days) would've called me a snitch for it...
In the mist of the drama. Despite the past and present. I hope Michel'le blesses us with new music. I have. And I still think her speaking voice is cute . Takes one a back. Hearing it. For the first time. Then when she sings. It's like what the. What the hell
